FREEDOM IS A WONDERFUL CONCEPT For many of us, we don’t think about the liberties we have until those very liberties are taken away. A good example of what I mean are the face masks we’re all wearing right now. We’ve agreed to adhere to the requests made to us by our city and county government. There’s definitely been some pushback, though, with this whole thing. I’ve noticed it with adults in my community who I don’t personally know,
“His names will be: Amazing Counselor, Strong God, Eternal Father, Prince of Wholeness. His ruling authority will grow, and there’ll be no limits to the wholeness he brings.” Isaiah 9:7 of The Message Bible I felt my heart weep when I saw the clip of George Floyd pressed to the ground by police as he uttered the words, “I can’t breathe.” If you don’t know who George Floyd is, a simple Google search would pull up the incident.
CHANGING THE WAY WE OPERATE The pandemic has focused us on continually looking at ways to get better. The health and safety of our children, parents, and staff has propelled us into investing in a new kiosk system for taking temperatures. The system is designed to automate the process of screening for health, every time a person enters and exits our building. This means that for infant to 5 years of age, each child will be tested twice (when they
Hope is better than coffee, and I love coffee! Coffee can get our bodies going for 30 minutes or more at a time. Hope goes much further than coffee’s impact on the body, by fueling our mind and soul with a wonderful powerful energy! We see hope often in the young. For example, when a young girl decides to work in the medical field after watching her dad get sick and spend long days in the hospital. That girl’s hope propels
The letter below went out to Parents/Guardians/Staff on March 31, 2020 Dear Family, By the Grace of God, we are here to serve children and their families in this difficult time. Our plans are to assist Governor Ducey and the state of Arizona by caring for the children of our first responders and essential business workers. Many things have been taken from us during this pandemic (our entertainment, health, sports, income, and for some life); furthermore, the Coronavirus is changing everyday
Kingdom Character Traits This year at the Learning Center, the school-age staff is focusing on cultivating and nourishing the character of our students! We believe that having a strong character is one of the single most powerful ways to succeed in life… Our character is everything and it speaks volumes about who we are! One of the ways we’ve decided to embark on this assignment is by integrating the teaching of what we’ve coined “Kingdom Character Traits” into our classroom
“Serving others prepares you to lead others” Jim George If there’s one example Christ set for us as Believers, it’s that the heart of leadership is servanthood. We are called to model what it means to be great through how we lovingly serve those in our sphere of influence. The leaders at the Son’s Children Learning Center know firsthand what it means to serve. There are so many avenues of serving and it’s one of the things I truly love about
“A Leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.” – John C. Maxwell At the Son’s Children, we place a very high value on education—not only for the children we serve, but the leaders who develop them! Literacy is extremely important to the growth and sustainability of our Learning Center, our curriculum, and our students. As we continue to learn, we place ourselves in a position to increase in understanding and capacity, all of which
